1979 450SEL 6.9. Very rare, world's fastest production sedan of its
time. Rust-free, 71,000 original miles. My family has owned it
since 1985. Needs little reconditioning: nice original paint and
leather. There are a few small cracks in the dash that you don't
immediately see. One piece of wood at the console shows some age. Minor
dings, one dent underneath. Not perfect mechanically: in storage
for about 15 years. Running, suspension and brakes are up. Easily
can be a show quality car and a museum piece. Owner's manual and
original toolkit, first aid kit, emergency reflector. Good tread
on tires, but old and needs to be trailered. Mechanical issue:
coolant was found in oil after long storage. All oil (14 quarts) was
drained. All coolant drained for test of block and heads. Block and
heads tested for compression leaks. All cylinders about 150 psi. Coolant
leak found at level of heads, making a manifold gasket- channel or
surface of - the intake manifold suspect. Possible head gasket fault.
Engine has no knocks, taps or smoke, and runs smoothly. Will refer
my local MB-certified tech who has serviced the car. $18,000.00 OBO -
price discounted for mechanical issue. Sold 'As-Is, Where Is'. Located
